Change: QDVTools4XL Distribution – Warn if import parameters fails

If the resources cannot be imported from a parameter’s file (.qdvdp), an error message is shown to the user.

Change: Microsoft Word Interface components rolled back

We have rolled back a change appeared in first version 7.20 about the update of the Microsoft Word Interface component named Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.dll

Some customers reported problems when editing and creating documents with this component. It leads to long times to release word from memory and sometimes it crashes QDV.

This new component is explicitly designed for Office 2019 and Office 365 while the old one is designed for Office 2013 and above (it also supports 2019 and 365).

So we decided to roll back to the Office 2013 component for Word. Not for Excel where the new version of Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.dll works fine, no error reported so far.
