Released on February 21, 2020
A beta version with a problem has been published in June and some user may have created estimates from it. It resulted in an error message when computing selling price “Missing table: LocalVarsFromWorkbooks”. The “Check and Repaint” function has been extended to handle this issue and repair the estimate.
A system DLL is required by the new version of the database engine but it is not always installed by Windows. When this DLL was missing, QDV didn’t start. Now the Setup installs it.
So far, in user profiles a check box named “Macros” enabled or disabled these three buttons according to user permissions:
The granularity has been widely enhanced and you can now tell exactly what you want to enable among:
•Run Macros,
•Run Requests
•Edit Macros,
•Edit Requests
•Events Manager
•Excel Macros
•Additional Features (Built-in Macros)
It means that you will always see the 3 buttons activated but the sub-menus below these buttons are controlled by above options.
The compatibility with previous versions of QDV is kept and works as follows: When all 7 features are enabled in new version, the old “Macros” option is checked in old version. When any of the 7 features is disabled, the “Macros” option is unchecked in old versions.
Of course, it works similarly the other way around: if under previous version the “Macros” option is enabled, all boxes are checked in the new version.
