Released on December 21, 2021
Under non-U.S.-language systems, the new scenarios report generator window didn't close well at the end of the creation of the reports.
As we already announced in January: We remind you that Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft and we have encountered several issues with this O.S. since the end of support in January 2020. QDV won't work correctly under this system. Please migrate as soon as possible and get Windows 10.
You will find further information on 'why and how to migrate' here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4057281/windows-7-support-ended-on-january-14-2020
This is the same for Windows Server 2008: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/windows-server-eos-faq/end-of-support-windows-server-2008-2008r2
Since then, we encountered worse an tricky issues with QDV 7.21 beta running under Windows 7: problems with printer drivers, strange crashes and bizarre locks in the menus. We cannot investigate those issues because Microsoft no longer supports the O.S. This is mostly due to the new .NET Framework 4.8 which is used in beta versions of QDV since version 7.21.884. This framework is not designed to work under Windows 7 and new versions of QDV rely on this framework exclusively (this is the most recent one). So, to prevent such issues, we decided to prevent QDV from running under Windows 7. You will receive a stop message at startup if you attempt to run QDV under versions lower than Windows 10 or Windows Server 2012 (Server 2012 will be supported up to October 2023).
If you don't want to upgrade your system now, you can always go back to latest official version 7.21 which can be downloaded here: http://www.iaes-software.com/downloads/Setup_QDV_7_21_17.exe
Users can enter a temporary formula in a cell of a free WBS field, for example =2*123. In such a case, the formula is computed, and the result is stored in the cell. Such value was however lost after Check and repaint.
Keep in mind that such formulas are never kept in the WBS (only their result is kept) except in the native Quantity column where a special mechanism is in place for this purpose.
Windows 11 displays some differences in Windows and splash screens as show under Office applications. Now QDV complies with it. However, under Windows 10 it still displays the old (squared) windows as Ms Office does.
