Bug Fix: Strings larger than 32767 chars caused an error

It was possible to input strings larger than 32767 characters in global variables by referencing a cell in the overhead workbook or by directly writing to the variable using a macro. But such strings neither can fit in NAMES in workbooks nor be displayed in Excel-Like spreadsheets. So, now when you have such a string, QDV truncates it automatically when you display the global variables and you get a clear message.

New: Estimate Converter – Match both BoQs – WBS Standard links

Estimate Converter – Match both BoQs (Estimate - Data\Excel\Update with new BoQ) function has been extended to adapt standard links of children having missing parents in new BoQ. In WBS Standard link, child has no minutes so in case of missing parent in new BoQ, the minutes of parent were not merged and original child task now without standard link had no minutes in merged estimate also.

At the end of conversion for ‘Update with new BoQ’ function there is new dialog with list of Standard links now:

If the parent of a link is removed and we still have children – the children are adapted as follows:

One child (Action=’Copy parent minutes to this normal task’): copy minutes of the deleted parent to this task and create no link

More than one (Action=’Copy parent minutes to this new parent task’ and ‘Link this child to new parent task’): copy minutes of the deleted parent to the first child and link it to remaining children

Only children Tasks of standard links having no minutes mapped in new Excel file are considered.

Bug Fix: Configuration of the tools for Excel

In some cases, it was not possible to set the configuration of the Tools For Excel, when the OS is 64 bits and MS-Office is 32 bits. It was related to a non-standard folder of installation for Excel. The new method is more reliable.
